Worthington Industries expands in Chinese market via steel-framing venture

Worthington Industries is expanding in the Chinese market with the
launch of a joint venture that will produce steel-framed housing, the
company said this morning.

The Columbus-based steel processor will own 40 percent of the venture
and Hubei Modern Urban construction and Development Group Co. of China
will own 60 percent. The venture will be known as Worthington Modern
Steel Framing System Co.

"We have invested resources in China over the past five years to pursue
this market, and those efforts are starting to pay off," said John P.
McConnell, Worthington chairman and CEO, in a statement.

Worthington's metal framing business has been the worst performing of
its major divisions, largely because of the downturn in commercial
building in the United States.

This new initiative, separate from the existing metal-framing
operations, will give the company greater access to a rapidly growing
market.

"Our Shanghai design office has been engaged in trial steel-framed
mid-rise buildings for several months with the Ministry of Construction
as China focuses on national building codes that promote steel framing,"
McConnell said.

The China venture will be located in Xintao in the Hubei province, a
part of central China that is receiving significant development
investment from the government, Worthington said. The venture will
operate in five provinces that have a combined population of about 300
million.

Wow! Caterpillar Inc. announced it will purchase Bucyrus Intl. Inc.
(BII) for $7.6 billion cash plus assumption of $1 billion of BII debt
for a total transaction price of $8.6 billion or $92 per share, a 32%
premium to the BII closing price the day before. The deal is expected to
close in mid-2011.

This year BII will have revenues of approximately $3.75, which are all

</a>related. Caterpillar's estimated 2010 mining related revenues are
$3.9 billion. With only one possibly redundant product category between
the two companies (electric-drive trucks, where Cat products are still

company today.

More than 18% of Caterpillar's revenues would be from mining, making
Caterpillar far and away the largest manufacturer of mining equipment
worldwide. Komatsu is expected to have 2010 mining equipment revenues of
$4.8 billion and BII's direct competitor, Joy Global (P&H Mining
Equipment and Joy Mining Machinery), will have 2010 revenues of
approximately $3.4 billion.

International Mining Machinery Holdings Limited Announces Shanxi JV with Shanxi Coal Transportation

Machinery Holdings Limited ("IMM" or "the Company"; HKEx: 1683), a
leading designer and manufacturer of underground longwall coal mining
equipment in China, is pleased to announce that IMM has entered an
agreement with Shanxi Coal Transportation and Sales Group Co., Ltd.
("Shanxi Coal Transportation") to establish a joint venture to meet the
enormous demand for coal mining machinery in the rapidly consolidating

wholly- owned subsidiary. It is expected that the JV company will invest

Copper Processing

The copper processing industry refines copper from metal ores or scrap
copper. The leading consumers of copper are wire mills and brass mills,
which use the copper to produce copper wire and copper alloys,
respectively. End uses of copper include construction materials,
electronic products, and transportation equipment. Once refined, copper
can be used as a powder in automotive, aerospace, electrical and
electronics equipment, in anti-fouling compounds, various chemicals and
medical processes. Compounds of copper include fungicides, wood
preservatives, copper plating, pigments, electronic applications and
specialized chemicals.

Copper can be produced as either a primary product or as a co-product of
gold, lead, zinc or silver. It is mined in both the Northern and
Southern Hemisphere and primarily consumed in the Northern Hemisphere
with the U.S. as a primary producer and consumer.

Primary Production of Copper

Copper is mined in open pits and below ground. The ore usually contains
less than 1% copper and is often associated with sulfide minerals. The
ore is ground, concentrated, and slurried with water and chemical
reagents. Air blown through the mixture attaches to the copper, causing
it to float to the top of the slurry. The copper is then removed with a
skimmer. The tailings remain and are dewatered and disposed of in
tailing ponds. The water is recovered and recycled.

One of two processing methods are used to refine concentrated copper.
Pyrometallurgy, or smelting, is used on ore with copper sulfide and iron
sulfide minerals. The concentrate is dried and fed into a furnace. The
minerals are partially oxidized and melted, resulting in segregated
layers. The matte layer refers to the iron-copper sulfide mixture which
sinks to the bottom. The slag, which refers to the remaining impurities,
floats on top of the matte. The slag is discarded on site or sold as
railroad ballast and sand blasting grit. Sulfur dioxide gases are also
collected and made into sulfuric acid for use in hydrometallurgical
leaching (discussed below) or sold off-site.

The matte is recovered and moved to the converter, a cylindrical vessel
into which the copper is poured. Air, lime and silica are added to react
with the metal oxide. Scrap copper may also be added. Iron slag is
removed and often recycled back into the furnace. Sulfur dioxide is
captured and converted into sulfuric acid. The converted copper, known
as "blister copper," is recovered.

The blister copper then undergoes "fire refining." Air and natural gas
are blown through the copper to remove any remaining sulfur and oxygen.
The copper is cast into copper anodes and placed in an electrolytic
cell. Once charged, the pure copper collects on the cathode and is
removed as 99% pure. The copper can be sold to wire-rod mills or further
processed into rods. Anode slime refers to impurities that sink to the
bottom of the electrolytic cell.

The second method for refining copper is called the hydrometallurgical
process. This process begins with oxidized copper ores or oxidized
copper wastes. The oxidized material is leached with sulfuric acid from
the smelting process. The sulfuric acid is percolated through piles of
oxidized metal and collected with acid resistant liners.

Further refining may be performed using one of two processes. In
cementation, the acidic solution of copper is deposited on to scrap iron
in an oxidation-reduction reaction. After sufficient amounts of copper
have been plated, the copper is further refined using the
pyrometallurgical process. However, this process is rarely used.

Solvent extraction is more commonly used to refine copper. An organic
solvent in which copper is soluble is introduced. As the copper is more
soluble in the organic layer than the aqueous, it enters an
organic-copper solution and is separated. Sulfuric acid is added to
strip the copper from the organic solvent into an electrolytic solution.

In the electrolytic process, called electrowinning, the copper plates
out onto the cathode. The cathodes are sold as-is or made into rods
on-site or made into starting sheets for other electrolytic cells.

All remaining organics and acids are reused. Further, sulfur is fixed
throughout the process to meet Clean Air Act Standards. If the sulfur
content of the gas is over 4%, the sulfur compounds are made into
sulfuric acid for use in the process or for sale to fertilizer
manufacturers. Slurries with less than 4% sulfur are classified as RCRA
hazardous wastes because of sulfur, cadmium, lead and other metals.

Secondary Copper Processing

Secondary copper processing involves two steps: metal pretreatment and
smelting. Pretreatment includes cleaning and concentrating the copper.
Concentrating is done manually or mechanically and includes sorting,
stripping, shredding and magnetic separation. The metal can be further
refined using pyrometallurgical methods — including sweating, insulation
burning, or drying — or hydrometallurgical methods — including flotation
and leaching. The concentrated metal is then smelted. Generally, copper
is fire refined, similar to primary copper smelting operations although
the exact procedure depends on the quality of copper scrap.

Pollution Output and Prevention in Copper Processing

Primary and secondary copper processing produce similar pollutants with
similar pollution prevention opportunities. Air emissions include
particulates and sulfur dioxide. Particulate air emissions usually
include iron and copper oxides, but many contain other metal oxides,
sulfates or sulfuric acid. Particulates are usually captured using
emissions control equipment. Depending on the composition of the
emissions some recovery of heavy metals may be possible.

In addition, secondary copper processing produces air emissions from the
removal of excess oils and cutting fluids. The air emissions are usually
captured using baghouses. After-burners may also be used to fully
combust products.

Sulfur dioxide is usually captured using single stage electrostatic
precipitation. Once captured, the sulfur dioxide is converted into
sulfuric acid and sold or reused in process.

Liquid wastes from the copper processing plant include large quantities
of water. Most of the water can be reused with minimal refinement. The
leaching process creates some sulfuric acid liquid waste. The sulfuric
acid is almost always directly reused. Electrolytic refining procedures
also produce some liquid waste. This waste is usually sent to waste
water treatment facilities and discharged.

Bridge Work Could Impact Mill

the mill could be torn down. Ohio Department of Transportation officials
held a public meeting Wednesday to allow for public comment regarding
the building's future.

ST. MARYS — State officials Wednesday afternoon held a meeting to allow
public input regarding the future of a St. Marys staple. Representatives
from the Ohio Department of Transportation and the city of St. Marys
gave brief remarks regarding the High Street bridge project. Under the
proposed project, the city is considering the possible demolition of the
grist mill.
"What we are calling the reservoir mill, which is the grain elevator
owned by St. Marys Hardware, has been determined eligible for the
National Register," ODOT District 7 spokesperson Tricia Bishop said. "It
was an early feature on the canal and it's considered to have statewide
significance."
Bishop said part of the bridge replacement could impact the structure
because of its deteriorated status. Since the mill has been classified
as historic, Bishop said state officials wanted the public's input as to
what should or could be done to preserve the building.
"If you have concerns over the demolition of the mill, which again is
just one of the things that could happen, we hope you talk about that,"
Bishop said.
Mark Droll, of Kohli & Kaliher Associates, is part of the design team
working on the bridge project for the city. The project would replace
the bridge that runs above the Miami and Erie Canal.
"We're going to put railing on the bridge to match the railing that's on
the other one," Droll said. "It's going to be the same width going
through there and will clean up the whole section real nicely."
Droll said the bridge is showing a lot of deterioration, including
damage to its steel and beams. The bridge, Droll said, has outlived its
life.
The new, single span bridge would continue the look of Lock 13. The
project will require the removal of the old abutments, excavation and
the driving of 45-foot long pilings.
"We do have some work that comes up adjacent to the mill," Droll said.
"We would have to deal with that during construction or we'll have to
see where our work limits will go."
If the mill is not removed, Droll said there is a possibility the
structure would be severely damaged because of the construction of the
bridge.
"That building is not in the greatest of shape," Droll said. "We are
weighing those options of how to best design the bridge without
impacting the mill. But should the mill become impacted, we're going to
have to deal with the issue of can it withstand construction. That is
what is unknown at this point."
According to a report prepared before the meeting, the mill was built in
1847, two years following the completion of the Miami and Erie Canal.
The power for the mill was generated by water from the mill race — which
funneled water from the canal.
Jim Heinrich, an officer with St. Marys Hardware, said he attended the
meeting to gather information regarding the project and to examine all
possible options for the mill.
"I'm really here today to listen and to learn," Heinrich said. "I have
not taken a position yet at this time."
City Engineer Craig Moeller said the bridge was built in 1941. Moeller
also said the foundation the bridge was built on dates back to 1888.
The deck was replaced in 1983 and the railings were capped 13 years ago.
The project was initially scheduled to take place in 2012. Moeller said
the time frame has changed to 2013 or 2014.
Bishop said the public meeting was held to allow as many people as
possible the option of speaking up regarding the project.
She encouraged residents who were unable to attend the meeting to go to

where forms can be filled out and mailed electronically.
"We're going to move forward and determine what is actually needed to
build the project," Bishop said.
"If we have no involvement in that building and the building can just
stand, then we won't be harming a historic resource and we'll just move
forward and the building can just continue to stand there and continue
to deteriorate the way it already is. If we have to get into the
building, then we'll move forward with the assumption that we're going
to harm the building, we'll bring our consulting parties together to try
and identify mechanisms to mitigate the harm. Things like a recordation
of the building, aesthetic treatments in the vicinity of the project —
that kind of thing."

Tata Metaliks (TML), promoted by Tata Steel, has been engaged in the
production of pig iron since 1994. Pig iron is used in the manufacture
of rolling mill rolls, automobile engine blocks, motor and generator
housings, gears, railways and machine tools.

In October 2007, TML signed a joint venture agreement with Japanese
companies Kubota Corporation and Metal One Corporation to set up Tata
Metaliks Kubota Pipes, to manufacture ductile iron pipes. The company,
headquartered in Kolkata, has a capacity to make 110,000tpa (tonnes per
annum) of ductile iron pipes at its facility within the TML pig iron
plant in Kharagpur, West Bengal. TML's other manufacturing facility is
at Redi in Maharashtra.

TML has acquired captive iron ore, manganese, limestone and dolomite
mines towards achieving raw material security. TML has been granted a
prospecting licence for iron ore mines at Dongarpal in Maharashtra. The
company is also pursuing a sinter plant at Kharagpur, 120,000tpa
capacity non-recovery type coke ovens at Redi and Kharagpur and a coal
dust injection plant at Kharagpur. Other projects are captive power
plants at Kharagpur and Redi that will utilise flue gases from the coke
ovens.

The company recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the
Karnataka government for an integrated steel project of 3mtpa at Haveri.
It has received approval for land, power and water supply for the
project, which will be implemented in association with Tata Steel and is
pursuing the allotment of iron mines.

The company produced 506,301million tonnes (MT) of hot metal in FY09-10
compared to 386,685MT in the previous year. In the quarter to June 2010
it reported a profit of Rs10.30 crore against a loss of Rs14.93 crore in
the previous corresponding quarter. Net sales surged 48.12%, to Rs273.21
crore from Rs184.45 crore. Average sales growth in the past three
quarters has been a high 54%. The drawback for TML is that margins are
low (10%), so a slight dip in sales could result in profits falling, as
was the case in 2009. Buy the stock now (current market price Rs138.95)

besides coal mining.
Coal mill classification

Coal mill is an efficient tool for grinding coals into fine powder in
coal mining industry. According to its fineness and working principles,
we divide coal mill into coarse power coal mill and fine coal mill.
Coarse powder mill is a kind of new high-tech milling machine to meet
the requirements of coarse powder processing customers. It is the ideal
equipment to replace Raymond mill, ball mill, and other traditional mill
which only process fine coal powder materials.
Coal mill working principle

Raw coal is fed through a central coal inlet at the top of the
pulverizer and falls by gravity to the rotating grinding table, mixing
with classifier rejects returned for re-grinding. Centrifugal action
forces the coal outward to the grinding ring where it is pulverized
between the ring and three grinding rollers. Grinding load, transmitted
from the tension rods through the loading frame to the roller
assemblies, holds the rollers in contact with the grinding ring. The
rollers adjust vertically as the depth of the coal load increases or
decreases.

A nozzle ring on the outside perimeter of the grinding ring feeds
primary air to the pulverizer. Pyrites and tramp metal fall through the
nozzle ring openings to be scraped into a rejects hopper.

A stream of low-velocity air carries the particles of pulverized coal
upward where they enter the classifier inlet vanes. Fine particles
travel to the burners in the primary air stream, but the larger, heavier
particles are returned to the grinding zone for further pulverization.

Aleris Signs Joint Venture Agreement for Greenfield Rolling Mill in China

signed a joint venture agreement with Zhenjiang Dingsheng Aluminum
Industries Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. for the construction of a
state-of-the-art aluminum rolling mill in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu
Province in China that will produce semi-finished rolled aluminum
products. Aleris will be the majority owner in the venture.

"This agreement demonstrates our commitment to China," said Steven J.
Demetriou, Aleris chairman and chief executive officer. "The investment
in this facility is a key component of our growth strategy, which
includes a significant focus on serving customers in China.
"With this venture, Aleris and Dingsheng will build and operate one of

appreciate and value the support of the Jiangsu Province and the City of
Zhenjiang."
Construction of the plant will begin upon receipt of the customary
government approvals and is expected to be completed within two years.

Foulath Steel to take over Saudi rolling mill

The National reported that the Kuwaiti and Japanese JV behind Bahrain's USD 1.2 billion Hidd Steel Mill project is planning to acquire a steel rolling mill in Saudi Arabia.

Bahrain's biggest steel company will take over a Saudi rival by next month as it pushes on with an expansion effort to become the Middle East's first fully integrated producer. The acquisition will allow the company to drop plans to build an additional plant in Bahrain and accelerate its timescale of delivering steel products from light to heavy sections by 3 years.

The Hidd Steel Mill in Bahrain is being constructed by United Steel Company, JV of the Bahrain based United Steel Holding Company and Japan's Yamato Kogyo Company.

Mr Khalid Al Qadeeri CMD of Sulb said that "Sulb won the tender and we are in negotiations to acquire a rolling mill in Saudi Arabia. We are in the final stages of due diligence and confident that we will conclude the deal by November.

Mr Khalid Al Qadeeri vice CMD of Foulath said that Foulath's acquisition reflects its strategy to control every link in the steel supply chain from iron ore mines to the output of finished products all with a view towards lowering its costs of production in a continued down market.

Mr Al Qadeeri said that the company would commit billions of dollars to its expansion effort and would put up as much as 70% equity in each investment. In a good market everyone makes money in a bad market, if you're not integrated, you won't survive. You can't survive as a standalone. Other regional producers including the UAE's Emirates Steel Industries and Saudi Arabia's Hadeed have pursued their own integration strategies but have yet to invest in raw material pellet plants or iron ore supply. The billets will be transported via barge from Bahrain to the new mill.

Mr Robin Parker the regional manager for Stemcor said that prices for imported steel rebar in the Gulf, a benchmark for the industry have increased 16.5% over the past 12 months to USD 600 per tonne. Prices could hit USD 700 per tonne next year.

Mr Al Qadeeri said that Foulath's acquisition target a steel mill in Saudi Arabia will be fed by barge with steel pellets produced at its plants in Bahrain. It is also building USD 1.2 billion three part steel plant in Bahrain, adjacent to its pellet plants that will turn a portion of the pellets into finished, heavy steel products such as I beams for the construction industry.

He said that the plant is 49% owned by Yamato Kogyo, a Japanese company, and is due to be completed by the beginning of 2013. Foulath's goal is that half of the pellet output from Bahrain will be steered towards In house steel making plants including the acquisition in Saudi Arabia.

Faster Production of Inside Threads

With the development of CNC machine tools, thread milling was introduced as an additional possibility. Here, the thread is milled into the hole using specific circular and feed motions of the tool. Each of these three methods is suited to different applications.

The "Classic" Method: Tapping

In conventional tapping, material is removed in a continuous cut. Tapping comes up against its limits in materials with hardness greater than 60 HRC, as well as in deep threads, where problems arise related to dimensional accuracy and tool breakage due to chip-removal difficulty.

Chipless: Cold-Form Tapping

Cold-form tapping is used for materials with a strength of less than 1200 N/mm2 and a stretch-at-break of more than 8 percent. Thanks to cold-forming, this chipless process achieves threads with higher static and dynamic strength in combination with very good surface quality.

However, the disadvantages of cold-form tapping include the high torques compared to conventional tapping, as well as the need for high-quality lubricants.

Productive and Precise: Thread Milling

Thread milling is suitable for almost all materials and offers the greatest flexibility and productivity. Thread flanks are machined cleanly and there is no axial miscut. For hard-to-machine materials, thread milling tends to be the best method. One underappreciated advantage is the fact that when the tool breaks, it can be removed easily. The restrictions on thread milling relate to the thread depth, which can generally be no more than 3 times the thread diameter.

Whatever threading method is used, one thing is certain: With the thread cycles in today's advanced CNC software modules, programming is quick and easy.

Cycles for the Production of Inside Threads

The actual programming requirements of inside threads are complex, because a number of math values have to be taken into consideration. Advanced CNC thread cycles can take care of this complexity in an efficient manner. These cycles ask input factors including the required tool, thread depth and cutting speed, as well as procedure-specific parameters.

Those procedure-specific inputs take into account the individual characteristics of the particular tapping operation—such as, for example, whether the conventional tapping thread is to be produced in a single cut or via chipbreaking. If yes, the reversal movement and change in direction of rotation for chip breaking can be automatically programmed the software.

Linking of Work Steps

Separate work steps typically also are needed for the production of inside threads. For example, the hole is centered and pre-drilled before the inside thread is created. If the workpiece contains several identical inside threads, then these work steps must be repeated for each position. To reduce the programming work involved, sub-programs can be created that are called up for the various positions.

In fact, with the proper CNC software, programming of these steps can be carried out even more efficiently. All the work steps are programmed just once, then linked via a position pattern. The programming for centering, drilling and tapping is created one time, applying to all positions of the pattern. Configurable cycles for lines, hole circles, grids, frames and special positions are available as these position patterns.

The Ukrainian flat steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) has said that, following its September output decrease mainly caused by the accident at its power plant, in October this year it plans to produce 414,000 mt of pig iron - up 12.5 percent month on month, and 500,000 mt of crude steel - up nine percent month on month.

According to Ilyich's general manager Vladimir Boyko, currently the most important thing for the plant is to ensure the implementation of its working schedule and to operate the rolling mills 1700 and 3000 at full capacity.

Cooperation between CCS and Newcastle University

September 1, 2010, China Classification Society (CCS) and Newcastle University held the ceremony of signing the MOU on continuing professional development (CPD) programmes in the University of Newcastle. Both sides reached a common understanding of co-operation Continuing Professional Development programmes, advanced technical workshops and Research and Development related to marine and offshore engineering technologies and decided to start with the Continuing Professional Development programmes. Vice Minister of Transport Xu Zuyuan attended the ceremony and delivered his speech. On behalf of the two sides, Mr. Li Kejun, CCS President and Mr. Chris Brick, Vice Chancellor of the Newcastle University signed the Memorandum. Lord Shipley, Leader of the Council of Newcastle City and Mr. Sherlock, Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, Mr. Ju Chengzhi, General Director of International Cooperation Department of MOT, and Mr. Li Guangling, Maritime Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in London also attended the signing ceremony.
Mr Xu Zuyuan said, development, challenge and cooperation are the main theme facing the current international maritime safety, environmental protection, clean energy and other fields. China and Europe are highly complementary. In the shipping sector of both the East and the West, cooperation is the best approach of development to promote technological innovation and social progress. It is undoubtedly an innovative step between China Classification Society and the Newcastle University to start the cooperation on technology, science, management and training.
Mr. Li Kejun expressed, CCS has been actively its internationalization strategy. In 2006 when CCS took the chairmanship of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), he used the concept of the Maritime Technology Bank (MTB) to describe the function of classification societies which rely on their "technology capital" accumulated to provide different varieties of "technical functions" for their customers including ship owners, shipyards, maritime regulatory bodies, flag administrations, insurers, etc. To achieve the target of providing better quality technical services, classification societies need continued knowledge refreshment and technical innovations in order to make the good use of the state-of-the-art technologies and maintain their unique role in ensuring international shipping safety and maritime regulatory development. Advanced educational bodies like Newcastle University are the sources of providing knowledge of refreshment for such state-of-the-art technologies, including advanced technologies in marine engineering, offshore engineering, subsea pipeline, subsea production and clean energy. This mode of good cooperation in modern CPD programmes between CCS and Newcastle University will definitely help to transmit and extend the knowledge throughout the entire maritime industry and finally change them into value added technical services (MTB Banking Services), so to benefit both of us and the industry at large

Newcastle University is a leading university in marine science and technology in Europe and has a high reputation in the maritime, transportation and many other fields in UK and even around the world.
CCS is a fastest growing and influential classification society in the world, sticks to her development strategy led by science and technology and provides services for shipping, shipbuilding, offshore engineering and related manufacturing industries.

中国船级社（简称CCS）成立于1956年，是中国唯一从事船舶入级检验业务的专业机构。中国船级社通过对船舶和海上设施提供合理和安全可靠的入级标准，通过提供独立、公正和诚实的入级及法定服务，为航运、造船、海上开发及相关的制造业和保险业服务，为促进和保障人命和财产的安全、防止水域环境污染服务。

    中国船级社是国际船级社协会（IACS）10家正式会员之一，并先后于1996年至1997年、2006年至2007年担任IACS理事会主席。CCS最高船级符号被伦敦保险商协会纳入其船级条款，享受保费优惠待遇。截至2008年年底，CCS接受28个国家或地区的政府授权，为悬挂这些国家或地区旗帜的船舶代行法定检验。CCS还是国际独立油轮船东协会（INTERTANKO）和国际干散货船东协会（INTERCARGO）的联系会员。 CCS在国内外设有逾60家检验网点，形成了覆盖全球的服务网络。截止2009年12月31日，我社入级船队突破历史新高，达到2282 艘，3445.8万总吨。

本指南适用于生产为船舶、海上平台、机械、传动装置、锅炉和受压容器等设备提供锻钢件的制造厂。为此，锻钢件的制造厂必须取得本社工厂认可。其生产的船用锻钢件经本社的检验合格后，签发船用产品证书，并在产品相应部位标有上本社印记(钢印)供用户选择。

对于向锻造厂提供钢锭、锻坯或批量供应轧材的制造厂可参照本指南执行。

A.3 认可条件

为使锻钢件制造厂能取得本社工厂认可，制造厂应向本社证明工厂拥有必要的制造、加工和试验设备，并由合格的管理人员进行有效地监督管理，从而使本社认为满意。并在验船师监督下实施事先确定的认可试验，试验结果应满足本社规范、相关标准及技术条件的要求。经本社评估满意，将向制造厂颁发工厂认可证书。经本社认可的制造厂和认可范围将由本社定期对外颁布。

A.4 认可的有效期

本社颁发的工厂认可书有效期一般为四年，以颁发证书日期计算。认可后，制造厂应接受本社每年一次的年度复查。年度复查将由本社验船师对制造厂进行一次现场核查或进行相关产品的检验和试验，通过符合原认可条件后，将在认可证书上进行嫂署，以确认认可证书保持有效。

A.5 认可费用

申请者有责任按照本社收费通知单在规定的期限内向本社支付有关认可费用 (包括相关差旅费用)。

即使申请者在认可工作开始后撤消申请或者由于试验、现场审核不能满足本社要求而未获得本社认可证书，申请者同样需要支付已发生的相关费用。

B 申请和资料提交

B.1 申请和资料提交

具备上述认可条件的制造厂可向本社当地检验机构提出书面工厂认可申请书并提交下列有关资料文件一式三份。

1、申请认可产品明细：锻钢件类别及用途，材料种类，申请认可最大锻件重量及相关尺寸、冶炼方法、脱氧方式、精炼方式、浇注方式、锻造方式(自由锻模锻连续纤维锻等)、热处理方法和交货状态等。

2工厂概况：工厂历史及现状、生产品种及生产规模、申请认可产品的生产/开发历史、注册商标和取得其它检验机构或认证机构的情况等。

3生产设备情况包括下列设备相关的技术参数

（1）冶炼、炉外精炼及真空处理设备

如果制造厂不具备冶炼设备，其锻造用料（钢锭、锻坯）必须由经本社认可的钢厂或锻造厂生产提供，并提供锻造用料来源厂的名单。

（2）锻造设备的最大锻造能力、锻造形式、锻压操作机以及行之有效的特殊锻造方法。

（3）加热炉及热处理炉的型式、容量、燃料种类、加热方式、温度鞚制方法、测温点的布置以及热处理采用的冷却装置。锻件表面强化处理方式和设备（如有时）。

（4）相关的起重设备冷校直设备等。

4测试试验设备：化学成份分析、力学性能试验、低倍检验、金相检查、无损检测等设备清单（包括名称、型号、能力、范围、制造厂以及法定检验单位和鉴定有效期），无损检测人员持证情况及适任的级别。

5简述基本生产工艺流程并详述生产流程中的检验、监鞚点及检验内容、要点。

6产品实物水平及质量鞚制的情况：

（1）企业内鞚标准/出厂保证条件

（2）近半年来的产品质量统计分析报告

（3）典型产品的实用案例

（4）用户反馈信息

7、工厂质量管理机构组成质量手册及相关的质量鞚制文件。

B2 现场评估及认可受理

对于初次申请本社认可的制造厂，本社检验机构在对提交的申请书(文件)和资料进行初步审查后，必要情况下将指派验船师对制造厂生产现场进行初步评估(生产设备检验试验条件)以决定是否受理认可申请。

C 认可试验

C.1 目的

根据工厂申请认可的锻钢件种类及范围，并结合工艺路线的不同，选取代表性(典型)产品，按照本社规范相关标准和技术条件的要求确定试验项目，对产品实物进行检验和试验，以判定制造厂是否具备生产申请范围内的船用铸钢件的能力和条件。

认可试验大纲一般由制造厂结合申请认可产品类别、范围和订货合同，确定典型产品进行编制。该大纲须经本社批准，也可由本社拟定经制造厂确认接受。

C.2 典型产品选取原则

(1)不同锻造方式(自由锻、模锻、连续纤维锻等)应分别选取典型件。

(2)根据申请认可产品的锻件类别(结构用、轴系、齿轮锻钢件等)，原则上每类别锻件选取一个具有代表性的典型产品。如果类别不同，但锻件材料、形状或钢级相接近时，可考虑增加典型产品选取的数量。

(3)初次认可时，至少应选择一件能反映制造厂最大锻造能力（最大重量或最大尺寸80%以上），具有代表性的典型产品。

(4)典型产品结合现有订货合同选取，对船用锻件，该产品设计图纸及技术条件须事先得到本社认可或审批。如果不是船用锻件，该产品材料的技术条件要基本符合本社规范对该类别锻件的要求。

(5)典型产品的制造方法应符合本社规范对该类别锻件的要求。

(6)典型产品的最终选取要得到验船师确实认。

C.3 典型产品相关资料

对选定典型产品做认可试验的锻件制造厂应提供下述资料：

（1）订货合同及技术协议书。

（2）锻件产品图纸及材料技术要求包括化学成份力学性能及无损检测要求。

（3）锻件生产流程图。

（4）冶炼工艺钢锭尺寸及重量钢锭首尾切除量。

（5）锻造工艺及锻造比。

（6）热处理工艺。

（7）锻件试验材料取样图（包括力学性能和低倍试验）。

C.4 认可试验项目

典型产品取样、试样加工须经本社验船师见证并标记钢印。

（1）化学成份分析（包括熔炼分析和锻件产品分析）：C、Si、Mn、S、P、Cr、Ni、Mo、Cu、Nb、V、Ti、Als（必要时可增加 [N][H][O]）。

（2）低倍组织检验：该试验主要针对轴系、管类锻件。取样部位一般为浇、冒口两端或在冒口端距锻件表面为直径的1/2处切取。低倍组织检验结果应符合下列规定：

锻件横截面酸蚀低倍数组织试片或断口上不得有肉眼可见的缩孔、气泡、裂纹、夹杂、翻皮和白点。

GB1814 《钢材断口检验法》

对于大型锻件，除低倍组织检验外还应进行硫印检验，来检验锻件中呈现钢铁中硫分布情况。采用标准：JB/EZQ6134《大型轴类锻钢件硫印试验方法及评定》予以检验和评定。

（3）高倍金相检验

非攫属夹杂物的金相检验和晶粒度应符合表列要求。

（4）拉伸试验及硬度检查

拉伸试验试样数量及位置，取决于锻件重量及尺寸，本社规范有明确规定。对较小锻件典型产品应至少一组拉伸试验。硬度试样可取自拉伸或冲击试样。试验项目包括σs、σb、δ、ψ和HB，并提供拉伸试样的记录纸。

参照标准GB228 《金属拉伸试验方法》

GB231 《金属布氏硬度试验方法》

（5）冲击试验

试样型式应采用标准夏比V型缺口试样。试验温度为常温或技术条件规定的温度。测量结果应包括冲击功和断口纤维百分数（或结晶度）。

参照标准：GB2106 《金属夏比型V型缺口冲击试验方法》

GB4159 《金属低温夏比冲击试验方法》

（6）超声波检测

在机加工到适当阶段和最终热处理后，应对锻钢件进行超声波检测，锻件的超声波检测的质量等级评定，应符合锻件图纸或合同的技术要求。参照检验标准：

GB/T3907 《钢锻件超声波检验方法》

ZBU 《船用锻件超声波探伤》

（7）其它：

①对精加工交货的锻钢件应进行表面着色或磁粉检测，以检查锻件表面或近表面缺陷。

②整体曲轴采用模锻或其他保证曲轴的锻造纤维具有连续性的锻造方法，除锻造工艺规程提交本社认可外，还要进行有关试验证实该锻钢件具有良好的连续纤维组织。

③对锻件表面进行表面处理和化学热处理的锻钢件（如齿轮），除了进行表面硬度测定外，还要测定表面淬硬层分布状况和淬硬层的深度。

④对于工作温度高于350℃的锻钢件，应测定高温力学性能数据。

⑤对锅炉、受压容器和管子用空心锻钢件应进行必要的水压试验。

⑥对奥氏体不琇钢锻件，应进行抗晶间腐蚀试验。

⑦对专利技术生产的船用低速柴油机锻件必须满足批准的专利技术条件规定的要求。

C.5 试验地点

通常，认可试验在工厂试验室进行，本社认为有必要时，部分试验目项将安排在本社认可的验证试验机构进行。

C.6 试验报告

（1）认可试验需经本社验船师见证，并签署原始记录。

（2）试验前，制造厂应出示测量试验设备的计量鉴定证书供验船师现场核查，同时提供这些鉴定证书的清单及复印件。

D 现场审核

本社工厂认可的现场工作包括认可试验和现场审核两部分，在认可试验进行期间，本社验船师将按照本社《产品检验规则》中关于"工厂及其质量鞚制"的要求，对制造厂设备能力、工艺鞚制质量管理情况进行现场核查和检查，以判定制造厂是否具备批量生产船用锻钢件的能力和条件，以确认制造厂符合本社工厂认可文件规定和规范要求。

齿轮滚刀安装角的调整方法计算口诀

在Y3150E型滚齿机上加工斜齿圆柱齿轮时，为了切出准确的齿形，应使滚刀和工件处于正确的"啮合"位置，即保证滚刀刀齿的排列方向与齿轮齿槽方向一致，从而加工出一定螺旋角的齿轮齿槽。为此，在加工齿轮前须将滚刀轴线相对于齿轮顶面偏转一定的角度进行安装，该偏转角称为滚刀安装角，用 δ表示。滚刀安装角δ的大小和方向不仅与滚刀螺旋升角ω大小和方向有关，还与被加工齿轮的螺旋角β的大小和方向有关，这就给滚刀的实际调整安装带来了不便。本人总结出"八字口诀"，来帮助滚刀的调整安装。

   当滚刀的螺旋升角ω的旋向与齿轮螺旋角β的旋向相同时，滚刀安装角δ的大小为β-ω；当滚刀的螺旋升角ω的旋向与齿轮螺旋角β的旋向不同时，滚刀安装角δ的大小为β＋ω。滚刀安装角δ的偏转方向与被加工齿轮的旋向有关，当加工右旋齿轮时，滚刀逆时针偏转；当加工左旋齿轮时，滚刀顺时针偏转。根据以上分析，可总结出如下口诀："同减异加，右逆左顺。"

   同减异加：是指当滚刀的螺旋升角ω的旋向与齿轮的螺旋角β的旋向相同时，滚刀安装角计算公式取"-"号；当滚刀的螺旋升角ω的旋向与齿轮的螺旋角β的旋向不同时，滚刀安装角计算公式取"+"号。

   右逆左顺：是指当加工右旋齿轮时，滚刀逆时针偏转安装角δ；加工左旋齿轮时，滚刀顺时针偏转安装角δ。

   例如：用ω＝2°的左旋滚刀加工β＝20°的左旋齿轮时，则对照口诀用"同减"和"左顺"来确定。即：滚刀的安装角大小为δ＝β- ω＝20°-2°＝18°，方向为顺时针偏转。

   又如：用ω＝2°的左旋滚刀加工β＝20°的右旋齿轮时，则对照口诀用："异加"和"右逆"来计算和偏转。即：滚刀的安装角大小为 δ＝β＋ω＝20°＋2°＝22°，方向为逆时针偏转。

加工直齿轮时，因β＝0°，则滚刀安装角δ为：

δ＝±ω

   其偏转方向决定于滚刀的螺旋升角ω的旋向，即左旋时逆时针偏转ω，右旋时顺时针偏转ω，此时不必用以上口诀。
