spur gear

spur gear

a gear having straight teeth cut on the rim parallel to the axis of rotation.

Also called spur wheel.

spur wheel

gear wheels that mesh in the same plane

Sample Applications

Construction equipment
Machine tools
Conveyors
Marine hoists
Material handling
Multi-spindle drives
Indexing equipment
Roller feeds

A gear is a rotating machine part having cut teeth, or cogs, which mesh with another toothed part in order to transmit torque. Two or more gears working in tandem are called a transmission and can produce a mechanical advantage through a gear ratio and thus may be considered a simple machine. Geared devices can change the speed, magnitude, and direction of a power source. The most common situation is for a gear to mesh with another gear, however a gear can also mesh a non-rotating toothed part, called a rack, thereby producing translation instead of rotation.

The gears in a transmission are analogous to the wheels in a pulley. An advantage of gears is that the teeth of a gear prevent slipping.

When two gears of unequal number of teeth are combined a mechanical advantage is produced, with both the rotational speeds and the torques of the two gears differing in a simple relationship.

In transmissions which offer multiple gear ratios, such as bicycles and cars, the term gear, as in first gear, refers to a gear ratio rather than an actual physical gear. The term is used to describe similar devices even when gear ratio is continuous rather than discrete, or when the device does not actually contain any gears, as in a continuously variable transmission.[1]

The earliest known reference to gears was circa 50 A.D. by Hero of Alexandria,[2] but they can be traced back to the Greek mechanics of the Alexandrian school in the 3rd century BC and were greatly developed by the Greek polymath Archimedes (287-212 BC).

The Working Principle of LM Series Vertical Mill

Motor runs under the condition that speed reducer drives the Nether
millstone. The matericals fall into the center of device through lock air
feeder, and not hot air comes into mill through air inlet.Under the
function of centrifugal force, the materials move to the edge of the
Nether millstone as it runs and rollers will grind the materials when
they come by the annular chute. The grinded materials will be taken up by
air circulation and the bigger powders will fall down for regrinding .
Qualified powders will be collected by collecting device as to be final
product.Materials containing water will be dried when they contact with
the hot air.Different dumidity materials can be dried to the requirement
through adjusting the temperature of hot air.Adjusting the separator can
get the required fineness powders.

Mining Engineering

Crusher machine, grinding equipment, mining machinery inside is an important component parts, including jaw crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher, raymond mill, high pressure micro powder mill, vertical -type milling machine, ball mill and several dozens of different uses of equipment, not only in the coal, electricity, chemicals, building materials and deep processing of raw materials industries play a significant role, but also for railway, highway, water, electricity, municipal construction projects to provide an efficient, reliable technical equipment support. Therefore, in-depth study of international and domestic mining machinery industry development status and trends of industry technical development trend, especially in crusher machine, grinding mill, cutting-edge technology, for China to further develop and improve the level of mining machinery, coal, metal and non-metallic the development of mines to provide more advanced level of international quality, efficient equipment to meet the economic development needs for energy and raw materials, of great significance.

Report on China Construction Machinery Industry, 2010-2015

Contents:
After 50 years' development, China construction machinery industry
forms an important industry which produces products of 18 categories,
more than 4500 specifications and types, and meets the basic demand in
domestic market and has quite a scale and flourishing development
vitality. In 2005, there were around 1000 enterprises above designed
size which produced construction machinery products, of which 130 were
foreign-owned and joint venture enterprises; there were 300 enterprises
whose sales amount was more than 10 million yuan; there were 100
enterprises whose sales amount was over 94 billion yuan, accounting for
75% of the whole industry; there were 23 enterprises whose sales amount
was over 1 billion, accounting for 50% of the whole industry. The whole
industry sold out 420 thousand construction machineries of different
types, sales revenues were 126.2 billion yuan, ranked the third in the
world behind America, Japan.
From Jan. to April 2006, sales revenues of the whole industry
increased year-on-year 31%; Yield of main products(number) increased
24%. From Jan. to May, sales revenues increased 19.4%, yield increased
25%. Of which, the growth of excavator, bulldozer, forklift and crane
increased greatly as high as over 30% respectively; loader increased by
double-digit on the big cardinal number, the market potential was great
to make people surprising.
The import and export situation of China construction machinery
presented characteristics as follows: 1 Aggregated import amount had
increased year after year, and began to decrease slowly after the summit
in 2004; aggregated export amount was equal to 2005 basically after
connective increase. 2 Export product structure was perfected , and
proportion of complete machine rose from 45% in 2000 to 58.8% in 2005. 3
In the export enterprises, joint ventures and individual proprietorships
had already became the main force and held 42% of the total export
amount; state-owned enterprises lowered down to second, occupying 34%;
private enterprises developed rapidly and held 19% of export shares. 4
Components exported to America, Japan and Korea increased greatly, which
marked China construction machinery components began to join global
industry chain.
But compared with foreign competitors, China construction machinery
enterprises still have some problems as follows, they are: big gap of
control technology; corresponding parts( spare parts, components)
non-reaching standard; insufficient consideration of man-machine
engineering ; less research and development input.
It is the key for construction machinery industry to adjusting the
product structure in the development process. Firstly we should focus on
domestic market demand, meanwhile develop products which have
competitiveness in the international market. For the advantage products
which have occupied market, we need to add new types to meet the
requirements in different regions and different climate work
environment. About the development of product, we must fix our eyes on
international market level, domestic construction projects and rural
development needs and do consumer investigation and market analysis. In
addition, we should pay more attention to the structure adjustment and
development of construction machinery matching engine and key
components. Improving the corollary parts level is one key to make
products high level.
Demand and growth rate of construction machinery products have close
relation with GDP and investment scale of infrastructure construction,
industry boom situation is related to the growth rate of investment in
fixed assets with synchronized positive correlation. During the "10th
Five Years", consumption amount of China construction machinery occupied
1.9% of the whole social fixed asset averagely per annum. The growth
rate of fixed assets investment will slow down during the "11th Five
Years", market capacity will expand relatively insufficiently, and the
industry will develop toward rationality gradually.
